David-Momma Day

Oddly enough, David’s school district had a teacher workday today, right after the MLK holiday. I’d made plans to see 27 Dresses today (the second time I’ve had to cancel on that movie–I’m never going to see it), but I had David home. *sigh* So we made it David-Momma day, as the little kids were at their school (although truth be told here: the MDO offered to watch David for me, as they’d made a room for the older kids of the MDO teachers anyways, and David goes to Sunday School & RA’s with these kids, so it’s not as if it was a room of strangers. I was sorely tempted to just leave him. But I’m a good Momma.)

So today we played Nintendo and ate at the pizza buffet and watched some westerns. David said it was the perfect day. *beam*

Nick’s parents finally had their anniversary dinner (a month late) tonight. We all got together and had a thanksgiving-style dinner at his parents house. The kids, of their own accord, all sat together (well, McKinley sat with her mom, but the mobile kids all chose to sit together). It was really cute. After dinner we had the family picture and played Cranium. I thought it was funny how the teams divided up and what our various strengths were (my team: me, Nick, Nick’s mom; our strength: data & words. their team: Mandy, her husband, and Matt; their strength: acting & drawing).

Anyways, a very good evening.
