- 11:20 am: Spent yesterday making decks of Phylomon cards for Nick & the kids (& an extra deck just in case someone else wants to play). So far: fun!

I know you all love to hear about my plans: today I have to clean, clean, clean because we’re having two different but simultaneous playdates with Caleb and Amy here this afternoon. I want to have the kids room, the living room, the foyer, and the kitchen done by the time I have to leave for my dentists appointment a little after noon. I hope my dentists appointment doesn’t take too long. She said an hour, I hope it is an hour. I only have an hour and fifteen minutes to work with, so I’m going early and going to hope that they’re running a bit early.
*updated to add: yes, it did only take an hour. 🙂
I am working on my blog from right now, so while it looks like everything I have in archives is currently private, that will be fixed within a few days. In the meantime, I’ll start posting here regularly, so you have something to look at. 🙂

Part of the reason I’ve not felt like blogging has been this overwhelming busyness combined with a general ennui caused by the everydayness of said busyness. So I’ve let my brain know that I don’t necessarily have to post life things any more if I don’t feel like it. I mean, that’s what tweets are for, right? Hehehe.
In the future I’m going to use the dreamwidth account for the writing/projects/brain stuff only, and the livejournal for more personal stuff. I’m awamiba either place.

No, I’m not dead. I just don’t feel like blogging any more lately. At all. But, for my own curiosity, here are my book reading stats from last year:
By category:
Short Story Anthologies: 5
Science Fiction: 16
Fantasy: 15
Nonfiction: 12
Young Adult: 9
Mystery: 5
Generic Fiction: 9
Most read author: Lois McMaster Bujold
2nd Place: Agatha Christie
Books I read on my iPhone: 3
Most enjoyed book this year: one of the Vorkosigan Saga. Any one of them, really.
Least enjoyed book this year: there were many & I decided that life was too short, so I didn’t finish them & they aren’t on this list.
Five things make a post (or My Day as a List)
1. Jello Soup. On the floor. On the walls. On my feet. In my hair. In the laundry basket.
2. “You’re only inviting me over because you’re an Otter and I’m staying at home because I’m a Golden Retriever (and I love the rain.)”
3. Only my own child can kick one of my children.
4. ”Let’s just exterminate the dirty dishes!”
5. I typed this in its entirety with a child climbing in my hair, one of his fingers shoved into my eyeball, one leg on one side of my chest, the other on my back. (and then, as if that were not enough, he leapt into the upholstered chair next to me, which had two other children in it, and knocked the whole thing over–it’s now on top of David and Greg’s back in it. ”gregory put his foot on my penis! Penis! penis! Order in the court!”)
I like even numbered birthdays. I can always be double some really small number and today’s is especially happy cause it’s my double-sixteenth birthday!
I haven’t really gotten any presents yet. My camera isn’t in the budget at the moment, so I’m waiting on that and …well, I think everyone else may have forgotten my birthday. But that’s all right. I realized the other day that I don’t really have many friends in town any more (and the ones I have are always sooo busy) and I haven’t really celebrated my birthday since David was born, so …I’m okay with that. *shrug* It’s not like anyone else I know celebrates their birthdays either. (I’ve totally missed several friends birthdays this year. Maybe I should give them gifts today. It’ll be like Hobbits-meet-MayDay. You’ll just find something on your doorstep and wonder if it was from me. woo-hoo!)
To celebrate, so far I’ve eaten some cake, cleaned up several largish messes, played some Super Mario 2 & SuperMario 3, and then hosted a playdate (wherein several of the messes took place). Nick brought me some pretty flowers during lunch. After lunch I had a bit more cake (Ben wanted some: it’s his fault) and now I have one sleeping child and one child who is content to sit in a chair with his blanket & some books. It’s nice.
This evening is a boy scout night, so we’re having easy food, but food that we don’t normally have lately: ravioli! I love ravioli! And then afterwards we’re having Rocky Road ice cream. Mmm…
(while I’ve been typing, child-in-the-chair has fallen asleep. hooray!)
I don’t feel like blogging today. Didn’t yesterday either. But usually when I post saying that I don’t feel posty, postiness falls upon me, so I’m hopeful.
We forgot to do St. Patrick’s day yesterday, due to me having to make 2 casseroles for different organizations (for a total of 3 made this week), and us going to Nick’s parents house for Aunt Opal’s visit. We had a good visit. My camera was acting up, so no pictures from me, but as soon as Mandy posts some, I’ll nab them and repost them on flickr so y’all can see just how huge all the kids are getting.
