Well, I finally woke up enough to get out of bed and stuff and then David went back to sleep. It’s not fair. 😦

Yesterday afternoon I made pancakes for the first time. Nick thought I was insane, but they turned out really good.

I intended to write last night, but I ended up with a migraine and instead spent the evening lying on the couch moaning. I woke up without a migraine, but I feel another one coming on. I need to go back to the doctor and get real drugs for this. Bleh.

I’m thinking about making some scrambled eggs for breakfast…which is weird because I hate scrambled eggs. The whole apt smells like them this morning though, and it’s a nice smell somehow. *shrugs* I can’t help it, I’ve been weird about food this week.

I have a ton of things to do today (most of which I intended to finish yesterday, but the whole MGT and Best Buy thing took way too much time).

-wash, dry, fold, & put away laundry
-bills
-clean up the four piles o’ stuff (mostly paperwork) in the living room
-clean the kitchen
-make more baby food
-return too small baby stuff to Target
-go to post office

Yay. That doesn’t sound like a lot though, does it? Hmm. Feels like a lot. Specially those four piles. I’ve been avoiding them for about a week now.

Mother Goose & Best Buy

David and I went to another Mother Goose story time today at the library…and we had fun…and we’re starting a playgroup with some other people from there. 🙂

I am both happy and sad to announce that I got a new Palm Pilot today. It’s an m105, a replacement for my old IIIe, which sadly died sometime earlier this month. Best Buy was very nice about replacing it, as I had a 3-year warranty on the thing. It’s actually an upgrade for me because this Palm has 8MB of memory as opposed to the 2MB that the old one had. I’m happy about that, but sad about the screen size — it seems much much smaller. Oh well. I got a happy bright red faceplate cover while I was there (they were on sale — just the red ones ???). It’s very nice. I love the way the flip cover flips back like a notepad instead of just up like on the IIIe. Quite happy.

dododo…what else? Hmm… Nothing I can think of. I’m running away now because I’m starving. Bye!

I bought way too much

I bought way too much stuff yesterday, but I’m happy with all of it and Nick’s not a bit upset by my purchases, so I guess it’s happy. I’m not happy though. I don’t know why. Ok, maybe I do know why and I just don’t want to point it out. Yeah.

The kid downstairs is crying like a maniac outside our window. I wonder if he accidentally stumbled upon the sign his parents semi-buried there (the one that says not to let your pets do their business on that patch of lawn–the only patch of lawn that my downstairs neighbors ever take their pet to). That would be ironic.

Hmm. Now my own child is crying. Oh joy.

Chopper thingie

Dude, this chopper thingie really rocks. It’s one of those slidy things with a blade on one side (diagonally set) and the other side has a place for different shaped pieces to slide in, depending on what kind of cut you want. It took me 30 seconds to cut carrots, instead of the 5 solid minutes of work it would have taken me for horrible slices.

Alas, I did suffer one small problem: I sliced my thumb. Oh well.

All in the name of making inexpensive baby food.

well well well.

Saturday night was such fun. 🙂 The party was wonderful, I drank too much, and still managed to make it home on my own two feet. It was a lovely evening, despite the weird guy that kept trying to touch me.

I avoided my computer all day yesterday in an attempt not to hear anything bad to mar my memories of a perfectly lovely party. Oddly enough, no one had anything bad to say about it at all. 🙂

Nick and I spent yesterday reading and playing with David and eating. It was a nice quiet day. I made -both- lunch and dinner, which is weird for me, but the book I’m reading right now makes me feel like cooking (Michaela Roessner’s “The Stars Compel”).

This morning I took David in for his 6-month check-up. He did pretty well right up until the shots. The regular lady wasn’t there to give them and he was upset about that. He bled from the shorts, which normally doesn’t happen, but he’s fine now. He’s had some food and is sleeping happily right now.

We also bought Halloween costumes (mainly for a party we’re going to this weekend). I got a “Leopard Lady” costume, which is sexier than it looks b/c it’s much shorter than it shows in the picture. David got a little “Tigger” costume. It was adorable (not to mention the only thing in about the right size for him). 🙂 Nick says he doesn’t want to wear a costume, so we didn’t get him anything at all.

I just got done making a huge bowl of tuna salad. I don’t have an exact recipe that I follow, so I was worried that I didn’t make enough macaroni, but it turned out looking just fine.

Lisa’s “Perfect” Tuna Salad
2 1/2 cups elbow macaroni (cooked according to directions),drained
12 oz can of tuna (packed in spring water), drained
15.25 oz can of sweet peas, drained
3 stems of celery, sliced thinly
1/2 cup of lite mayonnaise (preferably Hellman’s)
a dash of salt
a dash of paprika

Mix everything in a large bowl and chill, preferably overnight, for best flavor…or if you’re like me and can’t wait…eat it warm straight after mixing! 🙂 Serve with Coke, plain rippled/wavy potato chips, and Lipton’s french onion dip for the ultimate happiness.

dododo. It’s soo good.

Ok, I must eat now. Everyone have a nice afternoon. 🙂

Library-Bleh.

Bleh.

I finished the book I was reading tonight so I could return it to the library tomorrow. While I liked this book better than the first in the series in several ways, it was much whinier than the first. Too much of the “Oh, I love you, but we can never be together” kind of crap. Oh well.

Of course, I was all proud of myself because I thought I’d finished all my books from the library…but I’d forgotten that I had one more to go. *sigh* There’s no way I’ll finish it by tomorrow. I’ll take it back next week or something.

Ahh…time for me to go to bed.

Mother Goose Story Time

I took David to his first library Story Time this morning. It was so lovely. 🙂 We got to sing and dance and play with other babies. I got to talk to other moms of babies about David’s age. It was all so very fun! 🙂 We can’t wait to go to another one.

This afternoon, we hit the post office. They wouldn’t send one of my packages back to the sender because it was already opened and wouldn’t believe me when I told them it arrived that way. *sigh* So now I have to contact the company that I didn’t ask to send me this package in the first place to somehow send me postage to send the wretched thing back. Oh yay.

We also hit the beauty parlor. David likes it there–lots of women to flirt with. 😉
